We are expanding your access to high-quality compounded medications for office use.

Wedgewood Pharmacy is excited to introduce Wedgewood Connect: our new, FDA-registered, 503B Outsourcing Facility.

This means more medications will be available for veterinary office use—so you can have what you need on hand when every moment counts.

How will this affect me?

If office use of compounded medications currently is permitted in your state, preparations that you now receive labeled from Wedgewood Pharmacy may be labeled from Wedgewood Connect. The packaging may also be slightly different.

If your state permits only patient-specific prescriptions and does not permit office-use of compounded medications, you may now have access to a wider range of office-use medications. To see what is available, just click the “Available for Office Use” option when you search our formulary.

What is a 503B Outsourcing Facility?

A 503B Outsourcing Facility is a designation that was created by Congress in the 2013 Drug Quality & Security Act to bridge the gap between traditional state-licensed compounding pharmacies and industrial pharmaceutical manufacturers. 503B Outsourcing Facilities manufacture compounded medications for office use, enabling prescribers to begin treatment as soon as possible. 503B Outsourcing Facilities must register with FDA and adhere to cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
