Quality Assurance

Wedgewood Pharmacy’s comprehensive quality assurance program consists of systems that have been established in accordance with state board of pharmacy regulations and the standards set forth in the United States Pharmacopeia Chapters <795> Pharmaceutical Compounding-Nonsterile Preparations and <797> Pharmaceutical Compounding-Sterile Preparations. These systems, including facilities and equipment monitoring, compounding staff training and testing, compounding process verification, in-process quality control checks and testing of finished preparations, are in place to ensure quality and patient safety.

Most importantly, these systems make up our quality infrastructure to manage, monitor and ensure, through numerous quality checks and balances, a continuous state of control over all pharmacy processes everyday.

Additionally, Wedgewood Pharmacy is committed to Continuous Improvement (CI) and also employs a Corrective Action/Preventative Action System (CAPA), which includes, but is not limited to, capabilities and procedures that address lot traceability and recall, change control, adverse event and complaint reporting, trending and investigation, internal audits, alerts and recalls, etc.

Quality Agreements with our preferred vendors, change control, compounding documentation and a secure patient profile system allow us to ensure the quality attributes of the preparations we provide can be tracked in multiple directions.

Each employee, in addition to the quality training and testing required for each of their functional areas, receives training in total quality management to understand their role in addressing quality everyday.
