In the Field: The Key to the Lock
Barbara Meyers, the Behaviorist and Grief Therapist for Staten Island-based Holistic Animal Consulting Centre, is using chicken-flavored Cisapride Gourmeds as part of the treatment for her own cat, Raymond's gastroparesis. Affectionately known as "The Rain Man, " this 11.5 year-old, neutered, male, 11.8kg red, mackerel tabby with white markings is a big fan of this new chewable, scored dosage-form from Wedgewood. Says Barbara: "I quickly learned that I have to open it away from him or he'll knock the bottle out of my hands and eat all he can. He thinks they're the best treat he's ever had. Gourmeds are fabulous! They are the right key to a door of treatment that has remained locked for too long for many animals. Surely, not every animal will respond like Raymond, but wow!"
Rock-a-Bye, Sweet Baby James:
It’s not all dogs and cats at Wedgewood!  We also provide custom-compounded human-use preparations for a number of medical conditions including wet age-related macular degeneration, erectile dysfunction and pre-term birth prevention.  These include 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate, which is used with women who have a history of pre-term delivery.  In Septem-
ber, we were  thrilled to hear about baby James, who was delivered just on time to a grateful mother who had been treated with 17-P compounded by Wedgewood. The new mom, who pointed out that her first treatment was on Mother’s Day, sent this picture and a note to her customer-care representative, John McKelvey: "Thanks again for all your help and prayers.  We had a good outcome and everyone will be forever grateful to you for the important role you played in this baby's life."
